*1st July 2023 is the cutoff deadline for migration. Furthermore historic Universal Analytics data will only be available for six months after the switchover occurs. This means that by the end of 2023, all data currently available in Universal Analytics will be deleted.*

Last year Google announced that ‘Universal Analytics’ – the Industry Standard version of Google Analytics currently installed on your website – will be turned off in July 2023. After decades of being the mainstay of on-site monitoring and reporting, Universal Analytics will cease to gather any new data as of July 1st. This means website administrators across the globe will be required to switch over to the new ‘Google Analytics 4’ system in order to continue tracking essential reporting metrics and website data. Unlike previous developments with the Google Analytics system, this is not a straightforward platform upgrade. GA4 is a completely new and self-contained system that will not automatically port over any historical data or settings from Universal Analytics.
